All Progressives Congress Caretaker Committee’s Chairman, Mai-Mala Buni, has given an insight into how President Muhammadu Buhari received a former Minister of Aviation, Femi FaniKayode, into the party.
Fanikayode deflected into the APC and was taken to Buhari on Thursday.
He did so after he had lambasted the APC establishment several times, apart from having moved from the party earlier.
But Buni said Bhari received him well.
He said, “He is the newest member of APC and we just received him in appreciation and understanding of the President’s vision and magnanimity.
“The President received him very well. The President is a leader who shares his vision and looks toward greater Nigeria, so he received him very well and commended his courage.”
Fani-Kayode, who also spoke to the correspondents, said he believed that it was time for him to cross over to join hands with the President in moving Nigeria forward.
He said, “The point is that I felt it was time to do the right thing, to put Nigeria first and appreciate the efforts that have been made, particularly in the last couple of years in terms of security; fighting insurgency and terrorism.”
