A former Captain of Ibadan Golf Club, Idowu Salami, has given an i nsight into how socialite music promoter, Ola Ibironke, aka Budu Heritage, died.

Salami said on Monday said he was still in shock over the sudden death of Oladiran Ibironke, a Sport enthusiast and Music promoter, popularly known as Dudu Heritage Films.
Salami told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ibadan that he was with the Music promoter at the Club House before the incident happened on Sunday.
According to him, the deceased was in good health.
“Yes, anyone above 50 years might have some health challenges.
“I was with him (Ibironke) at the Club House before the incident happened. He was hale and hearty, he was fit physically.
“I was about driving out of the Club House when I heard my name being called loudly ‘come back your friend just slumped’ and I rushed back.
“Behold, I met him on the floor and we tried to rush him to the hospital. I guess he might have died on the spot,” he said.
Salami described the death of Ibironke as extremely sad, pathetic and unbelievable.
“He didn’t only die as a Captain of the Club, but he died while serving as a captain. He died in the Club pavilion.
“His entire tenure, up to the time his life was terminated, focussed on the development of the club and on the growth and upliftment of the game.
“He did so many innovation tournaments that never happened in the history of Golf in Nigeria.
“We are to play a tournament this weekend, Golf Captain Invitational Tournament; it has never happened before, not just in Nigeria, but all over the world.
“It is aimed at bringing all the past captains all over Nigeria together to have a forum. The vision is to rotate it annually for the growth of Golf.
“He was a family man who loved his wife and children dearly,”
Salami said.
