Thirty-eight innocent Nigerians were given mass burial in Kaduna State on Thursday, September 30.

This happened on the eve of the country’s Independence Day celebration, with the gift of killing and mass burial seeming to have been their lot.

The victims were killed in the bandits attack on Madamai and Abun communities in Kaura Local Government Area on Sunday, September 26.

They were innocent, not known to be at war with anybody.

They were, however, killed by those still being described as bandits, who have continued to wreak on the polity, havoc that only God knows when it will end.

It was indeed a harvest of tears and agony at GSS Mallagum in Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Reports said children who had fathers and mothers until bandits struck were there.

Parents who had children until the fruits of joy were dastardly plucked were also there.

Relatives, friends, other natives and other loved ones gathered in the area to mourn the dead, although anxiety was also said to be in the air as no one knew if the goons were still lurking somewhere.

Of course, many of the survivors have also become homeless and penniless, as their houses and whatever therein were burnt down.
