Bombardment on bandits: North will soon have cause to thank Armed Forces, says Sawyer

As the military continue the bombardment of bandits in Zamfara State, it has said that the people of the North will soon have cause to salute it.

The North, especially Zamfara, Katsina, Niger and Kaduna, has been under the siege of the criminals for some time, but the military’s recent onslaught is yielding fruits.

While many were said to have been killed, some of them a were said to be fleeing to other states and other parts of the country.

Commenting on the development, the Director of Defence Information, Major General Benjamin Sawyerr, said the operations continued, noting that the North would soon be free from the claws of criminals.

He said, “Operations are ongoing. Tactics and strategies are not to be divulged at this moment.

“The operations are being conducted in line with the operational directives as well as contingencies.

“The North-Central, North-East and the North-West will soon have reasons to thank the Armed Forces of Nigeria for a job well done.”

He, however, declined to answer further questions put to him on the matter.
