The Federal Ministry of Information and Culture has advised civil servants yet to receive COVID-19 vaccination to avail themselves the opportunity provided by the ongoing second phase.
Dr Ifeoma Anyanwutaku, Permanent Secretary of the ministry, made the call in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja.
Anyanwutaku, in reference to a circular from the Office of Head of Service of the Federation dated August 26, noted that the Federal Government has made provision for the second phase of COVID-19 vaccination for workers through the Presidential Steering Committee on COVID-19 and NPHCDA.
“All Federal Civil Servants who are yet to receive the vaccines are advised to avail themselves of the opportunity during the second phase. ln addition, provision has been made for young people of 18 years and above to ensure wider coverage.
“The vaccination exercise kicked off on Monday, August 23, at the Federal staff clinic in the Federal Secretariat, Federal Medical Centre, Jabi, or at the General Hospital, Maitama, for MDAs in Mabushi and environs. Area 2 Health Centre is for MDAs in the Old Federal Secretariat Area 1.
“Officers are to present their staff ID Cards/payslips within the last three months for identification purposes,” it noted.
