Like the deep calling to the deep, ‘Poliiice o’ highlife msuician, Bright Chimezie, has identified the five attributes that, he believes, set the late music icon, Victor Uwaifo, apart from others.
The multi-talented giant died on Saturday, August 28 and his passage has been attracting moving tributes.
He was 80.
Giving his perspective, Chimezie underlined intelligence, diligence, magical creativity and extreme discipline as the virtues.
He noted in a Facebook tribute: “Professor Victor Uwaifor, I am shocked and pained but most especially I am consoled with the fact you left an eternal legacy.
“You entered into the field of arts and manifested intelligence, diligence, magical creativity and extreme discipline- an artistic genius in all ramifications. The originality and uniqueness of your music and crafts remain unparalleled and unequaled.
“You have succeeded in enshrining your name and image in all and these legacies remain evergreen as it will transcend to several generations yet unborn. May God give your family and everyone pained by your demise the fortitude to bear this loss.”
