There are indications that the leadership of the All Progressives Congress is angry with the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, over his decision to set up a parallel secretariat for the party in Kwara State.
Mohammed and the state Governor, Abdurahman Abdurasak, are at loggerheads over supremacy and other issues best known to them.
They had come together with the Enough is Enough O TO GEE ideology that ended the hegemony of the Saraki family in the state.
A fight had however since broken out between them and among some other stakeholders.
Mohammed has now set up a parallel party leadership but the APC central structure is said to detest this.
According to a report in ‘The Nation’, the Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) of the party has summoned him.
The National Secretariat was said to have sent two letters to the minister inviting him to come and explain why disciplinary measures should not be taken against him for the action.
The state headquarters of the party is located in the Tanke area; the minister’s faction recently unveiled its secretariat at GRA, Ilorin.
This is coming on the heels of a threat by the State Caretaker Committee Chairman, Alhaji Samari Abubakar, to sanction the minister for anti-party activities.
