Southern governors have rejected security raids or major arrests in their states without prior information by security agencies.

They said this as controversy still surround the Department of State Security raid on the home of Yoruba nation promoter, Sunday Igboho.

The house was raided in Ibadan on Monday, with two people killed, property destroyed while 13 people were arrested and arms and ammunition seized.

Although the governors did not specifically mention the incident, they in Lagos on Monday siad at the end of their meeting that the manner of arrest should be stopped.

They said in the communique of the meeting: “Re-emphasised the need for State Police;

“Resolved that if for any reason security institutions need to undertake an operation in any State, the Chief Security Officer of the State must be duly informed;

“Frowns at selective criminal administration of Justice and resolved that arrests should be made within the ambit of the Law and fundamental human rights.”
