Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fanikayode, has urged Nigerians to defend embattled super cop, Abba Kyari.
The US Government currently wants Kyari, after alleged fraudster, Huspuppi, implicated him in a $1.1m fraud case.
Many people have been castigating Kyari but Fanikayode said he needed to be given the benefit of the doubt.
His thinking is in the line of an aide of popular singer Davido, Israel, who said Kyari deserved continued admiration and support.
In a post on Friday, Fanikayode said: ”When my friend Allen Onyema, the Chairman of Air Peace, was indicted by the FBI and the Americans demanded he be extradicted we stood by him. Onyema was later vindicated. Why can’t we do the same for Abba? Is it wrong for us to ask them to show us hard evidence of his crime first?”
