There is hope that the structure of elections in Nigeria will become less rowdy as the Supreme Court has upheld the deregistration of 74 political parties by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
The court, on Friday, said it was within INEC’s power to do so.
In the judgment delivered by Justice Adamu Jauro, it said the deregistration of NUP, one of the 74 parties, was done in line with the laws and compliance with the extant provisions of the Constitution and Electoral Act.
