Gunmen opened fire on a former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Charles Soludo, on Wednesday, reportedly killing three of his orderlies in the process.
Although he was not identified as a victim, there were anxieties about his whereabouts.
The incident happened in Soludo’s home town in Isiofia in the Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State.
He was said to be having a meeting with Isuofia youths at the town’s civic centre when the gunmen struck.
Police Public Relations Officer, Ikenga Tochukwu, confirmed the incident although he could not give details.
