Five men on Tuesday appeared before a Badagry Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State for alleged unlawful damage of an erected fence valued at N6.7 million.
The defendants, whose addresses are unknown, are facing a two-count charge of malicious damage and breach of peace.
The defendants, Monday Amosu, 25; Jimoh Amosu, 42; Segun Samuel, 37; and Benjamin Akovovon, 74, were, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The prosecutor, ASP. Clement Okuomose, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on March 24, at about 2:00p.m. at Itoga Community, Badagry, Lagos.
Okuomose said the defendants unlawfully damaged an erected fence valued at N6.7 million property of Value Print Ltd.
“The defendants conducted themselves in a manner likely to cause breach of public peace by disturbing workers who were working at the site of the company.
“The offences contravened Sections 350 and 163 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015,” he said.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Fadahunsi Adefioye, granted the defendants bail of N200, 000 each with two sureties in the like sum.
Adefioye adjourned the case until May 5, for hearing.
