Alaba set to leave Bayern as club sings replacement

Reality of departure has dawned on defender David Alaba and Bayern as the player insists he will leave at the end of this season.
He has been there for 13 years, winning many choice trophies with the club, alongside the World Cup he won with the German nationals.
While Bayern has signed Leipzig’s Dayot Upamecano to replace him, he has, however, yet to reveal the club he is joining.

AFP quotes him as saying:

“I made the decision to do something new after this season and leave the club,” the 28-year-old Austrian international said in a press conference in Munich.

“That wasn’t an easy decision. I’ve been here for 13 years and the club is very close to my heart.
