As FCMB moved to fill the vacuum created by the circumstantial leave on which its Managing Director, Adam Nuru, has proceeded, it has stressed that his position has not really been filled.
It announced the appointment of Yemisi Edun as the Acting MD on Wednesday but is quick to emphasise in what capacity.
It noted in a statement:
“In line with normal corporate practice, Edun is Acting as the Managing Director of FCMB in the interim period, while Mr Adam Nuru is on leave.
“She has not been appointed as the substantive Managing Director,” the statement said.
Things are taking this dimension in the bank following an allegation that linked Nuru to the paternity of the two children of a former employee of the bank, Moyo Thomas, who was married to Tunde Thomas, now deceased.
The bank is currently investigating the matter.
