The anxiety that has characterised admission into tertiary institutions in recent times may soon ease as the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board has opened its portal for the 2020/2021 session.

COOVID-19 disruptions, coupled with a prolonged strike by university lecturers, has rendered the system messy, with many candidates and parents held in suspense and frustration.

But the opening of the portal now gives institutions access to upload names of shortlisted applicants for the 2020/2021 admissions.

Fabian Benjamin, JAMB spokesman, confirmed this on Wednesday, quoting the Registrar of JAMB, Prof Is-haq Oloyede, as saying that admission processes must go through the Central Admission Processing System for approval.

“Of course, long ago. Any institution, not just public that wants to is already uploading,” Oloyede was quoted as saying.
