Not funny! Uganda pushes Omah Lay, Tems into prison

Ugandan authorities seem to be dead serious on their prosecution of two Nigerian singers, Omar Lay and Tems, who were arrested while on a musical tour to the country.

They have been accused of flouting coronavirus rules.

Many people, including top singers like Burna Boy and Olamide, have called on the Ugandan government to release the artistes but it has yet to yield.

Instead, both singers now face a court case, while they were taken to different prisons on Monday.

“Finally @temsbaby & @Omah_Lay are take to Kitalya prison and Tems is taken to Kigo prison, Omah Lay is taken to kitalya prison until 16 Dec2020 and the event orginisers /Promoters and they will have to appear to High Court on Wednesday,” music promoter, @davidsancez256, tweeted.

While Omah Lay was taken to Kitalya prison, his compatriot and colleague Tems was taken to Kigo prison.

It was further learnt that they will be appearing before a Ugandan High Court on Wednesday December 16.
