Another shocking death has been recorded as the Olu of Warri, His Majesty Ogiame Ikenwoli, has passed away.
The monarch died on Monday, five years after ascending the throne.
He was 65.
With some already describing the passage as the falling of another elephant, the Olu’s death has added to the list of prominent people that Nigeria has lost in 2020, a year synonymous with the coronavirus pandemic.
Among such deceased were prominent politicians to monarchs.
Although the Olu’s death has not been officially linked to the pandemic, there are reports that he recently hosted Major General Olu Irefin, who recently died from it.

Born in 1955 to His Majesty, Ogiame Erejuwa II, (1951-1986) Godfrey Ikenwoli Emiko was next only to Prince Godwin Toritseju Emiko who became His Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse II the Olu of Warri on May 2nd, 1987-2015 in his father’s children lineage.
Ogiame Ikenwoli also became the first child of his mother, Olori Eyinagboluwade Emiko by the reason of the death of his direct elder siblings of the same mother.
For his tertiary education, he attended the University of Benin (Uniben) where he graduated with Hons in Business Administration in 1990.
