Michael, first `child of the late Minister of State for Education, Prof. Jerry Agada, has engaged the deceased’s Facebook page five days after he died.
Michael needed to reach out to Agada’s many friends and fans but he said it was not an easy task operating the page.
This was not because he did not know the password but because of the emotional burden surrounding it, and the huge size of the shoe the father left behind.
Thanking and updating all on Sunday, Michael, in a post, noted:
Calvary Greetings I bring to you.
My family and I wish you and yours everything good in this yuletide and beyond.
Fortunately or unfortunately depending on flip perspective; the Yuletide and holidays for this year 2020 came early for my Family as my Father Prof. Jerry Anthony Agada passed on to the great beyond on Tuesday, the 22nd day of December, 2020 after a brief illness.
Michael Ichekani Agada is my name; I am the first of the five biological children of the Late Professor. I know that my Dad had a million and one ‘children’ he was indeed a fine gentleman.
I have been finding it really difficult to open his Facebook page, perhaps because I needed time to gather my thoughts or because I am scared of the enormity of the task of fitting into a small space in the big shoes he has left behind.
The truth is that, Daddy actually prepared me for this day in his usual subtle but firm nature.
I have summoned the courage to log in today and reach out to you his numerous friends on this cyber space (FB). I am reaching out to you to let you know that plans are in top gear to give him a befitting farewell.
I will ensure that you all are brought up-to-speed with regards to the decisions taken and the farewell arrangements as time progresses.
I use this opportunity to tell you that on behalf of my Family that all your condolences are received with much gratitude and appreciation.
Thank you and God Bless.
Michael Ichekani Agada
