The Department of Security Services has raised the alarm over alleged planned bombings of public places in Christmas and New Year.

It said those he called enemies of state had plans to bomb public places that include recreational and religious centres.

Churches and mosques have been parts of targets of insurgents during religious festivals in the country, especially in the North.

the DSS Spokesperson, Peter Afunaya, does not, however, identify specific places.

He said in a statement on Tuesday:

“The planned dastardly acts are to be executed through the use of explosives, suicide bombing and other dangerous weapons.

“The objective is to create a general sense of fear among the people and subsequently undermine the government.

“On its part, the Service is collaborating with other sister agencies to ensure that adequate measures are put in place for protection of lives and property.
