The Katsina State Government has said that the over 300 pupils of Government Science Secondary School, Kankara, Katsina State, abducted on Friday have been released.

This is coming the same day a hoax was recorded when via a tweet that they had been rescued.

Besides, lads believed to be the pupils had surfaced in a video in which they desperately plead for rescue.

On Thursday night, however, Special Adviser to the Katsina Governor on Security, Ibrahim Kastina, confirmed the release of the students.

According to him, they were freed at Tsafe (82.5km via road) from Kankara town in Katsina State where they were abducted.
