President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed worry at the continued strike by lectures under the umbrella of the Academic Staff Union of Universities.
According to him, they are not considering the realities of the country’s situation, noting that that was why they bhad yet to return to classroom despite the concessions the Federal Government had given.
In a statement on Tuesday, signed by Buhari’s spokesperson, Garba Shehu, he
”Lecturers had not taken into consideration the larger challenges facing the country.
“Government conceded something. The problem is that they refused to look at the problem of the whole country.
The Minister of Labour is working hard at it. It is amazing how ASUU will stay out of classrooms for so long. There’s a need for our elites to understand the challenges facing the country.”
