Less than a week after a former President of the Association of Nigerian Authors, Prof. Jerry Agada, died, another pen pusher, Dr Jimanze Ego-Alowes, has passed away.

Details of the passage are still being awaited but his colleagues, including journalist and writer, Henry Akubuiro, have confirmed it.
The proprietor of The Stones publishing company died on Christmas day, the same day the country lost prominent filmmaker, Chico Ejiro.
A fierce critic of the Nigerian project, Ego-Alowes, who was also a columnist, authored piercing books that often stirred up controversies.
One of such is The University-Media Complex as Nigeria’s Foremost Amusement Chain.

On December 25, we all celebrated the birth of Christ Jesus, venerating the halo from a distant geography . But, on that fateful day, you left our sinful world to join your maker. Jimanze Ego-Alowes of the “Ahia zuwa” fame has left us, but we will always remember his frank but sometimes acidic analyses of Nigeria’s malaise in the Daily Sun. Each time he visited my desk in the office, he would remind me, “You are one of the few intellectuals in Nigerian journalism that I read every week. Keep it up. ”
Tonight, I salaam at your feet and sing a requiem with a bucket of tears. Goodbye, Jimanze Ego-Alowes, poet and effendi columnist that coveted the intellectual swagger. Ahia zuwa till infinity!!!!!
