Chinese authorities have closed the websites and social media accounts of 32 illegal social organisations, the Ministry of Civil Affairs (MCA) said on Thursday.
The MCA said it will continue to beef up its crackdown on illegal social organisations and strengthen online and offline inspections, adding that the founders of such organisations will be blacklisted by relevant authorities.
According to the ministry, members of the public can check the registration information of social organisations via a mini program for social organisations, on the chinanpogov WeChat account, or at www.chinanpo.gov.cn.
China has more than 800,000 registered social organisations, according to statistics released by the MCA.
