Shops destroyed as fire guts part of Otukpo main market in Benue state for the second time this year.
According to reports, the fire which started about 8:00 am razed about 100 shops, destroying property worth millions of Naira.
On March 16, 2020 Otukpo main market was first gutted by midnight inferno with about 200 shops burnt at the Lagos line section.
Council Chairman of Otukpo, George Alli, who confirmed the incident said the timely intervention of the Fire Service prevented the fire from spreading to other sections of the market.
