Protesters who gathered at the Lekki Toll Gate in Lagos have been recounting their ordeals allegedly in the hands of security operatives who stormed the place on Tuesday.
They said the operatives, especially soldiers, shot at them after street light was switched off and CCTV disconnected.
Speaking on social media platforms and on Channels TV News at 10, some of them said some people lost their lives while some were wounded.
“I counted four people shot dead,” one said, with another saying nine injured people had been taken to hospitals.
Meanwhile, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has ordered investigation into the shooting.
A statement by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, noted that the governor also warned security operatives not to arrest anyone for violating the curfew he earlier declared.
