The Muslim Rights Concern,a human rights organisation, has condemned the attack on Gov. Isiaka Oyetola of Osun.
The governor was attacked on Oct. 17, around the Olaiya junction in Osogbo, the state capital.
The group’s director, Prof. Ishaq Akintola while condemning the attack in a statement issued in Lagos, noted that the #EndSARS protest had been hijacked by merchants of death, hoodlums and disgruntled politicians.
”The attackers used guns, axes and cutlasses. MURIC strongly condemns this attack. It was more than a protest. Things have gotten out of hand.
”The #EndSARS protest has been hijacked by merchants of death, hoodlums and disgruntled politicians.
”What are people doing with guns, axes, cutlasses and stones in a protest ostensibly planned and labelled to be peaceful.
“Besides, Oyetola is an easy-going governor. This is a governor who tried all he could to identify with young Nigerians who are protesting,” he said.
