Internet power house, Google, has expressed support for the EndSARS campaign in Nigeria, saying it rejected brutality and oppression of the people.
This came hours after Twitter founder did the same, while also urging its followers to contribute to the funding of the campaign spearheaded by the Nigerian youths.
Google tweeted on Thursday: “We strongly oppose oppression, brutality & intimidation. We believe a fair and impartial police force is a critical element of a stable society, & that abuse of power infringes on people’s democratic & human rights. We urge a speedy resolution to the current situation. #EndsSARS.”
Protests against the notorious police unit, SARS, continued in different parts of the country despite the announcement that it had been disbanded.
The creation of another squad, SWAT, has deepened anger as many see it as an old wine n a new bottle.
Besides, a twist was, on Thursday, aded to he clamour against SARS when Northern governors told President Muhammadu Buhari that. it should not be disbanded.
