The Federal Government has finally dissolved the Special Anti-robbery Squad (SARS).
The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, made the announcement on Sunday at a press briefing in Abuja.
According to Adamu, all officers serving in the unit will be redeployed to other police commands, formations.
This is coming days after a public outcry and series of protests calling for a scrapping of the unit over allegations of brutality and human rights violations.
