Origin zone are playing a major role in the distribution of votes in Saturday’s governorship election in Ondo State.
For instance, although the All Progressives Congress’s Rotimi Aeredolu dominates his Owo town and is actually generally leading, Peoples Dmocratic Party’s Eyitayo Jegede looms large in Akure, the state capital, where he hails from.
In Akure South, for instance, Jegede polled 47,627 votes while Akeredolu got 17, 277 votes.
Zenith Labor Party candidate, Agboola Ajayi, garnered 3,623 votes.
Also in Akure North, Akeredolu got 9,546 votes; Jegede, 12,263; and Ajayi 1,046 votes.
