The University of Ibadan (UI) has been ranked the best in Nigeria.
Among the only six Nigerian Universities in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Ranking for 2021,
UI took the number one spot in Nigeria and also ranked at number 401–500 in the world.
On the global scale, the University of Oxford claims the top spot for the 5th consecutive year.
Other universities in Nigeria that made it to the first 1,000 institutions in the world include: Lagos State University (501-600), University of Lagos (601-800), Covenant University (801-1000), University of Nigeria (1001) and Obafemi Awolowo University (1001).
The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2021 includes more than 1,500 universities across 93 countries and regions, making it the largest and most diverse university rankings to date.
