A Grade I Area Court Karu, Abuja, on Thursday sentenced a 42-year-old mechanic, Aminu Saleh, to six months imprisonment for buying two stolen generators.
Saleh, who resides in Kabusa, Abuja, pleaded guilty to busying stolen property and begged for leniency.
The judge, Inuwa Maiwada, however, gave the convict an option of N20,000 fine.
Earlier, the prosecution counsel, Vincent Osiji told the court that the convict dishonestly bought two stolen generators, worth N137, 000.
Osuji said that during investigation, the convict confessed to the crime.
The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of Section 317 of the Penal Code.
