The Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello has commiserated with the people and government of Kaduna State over the death of Alhaji Shehu Idris, the Chairman of Kaduna State Emirate Council.
Bello in statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Onogwu Muhammed, said late Emir Idris would be missed for his peace initiatives and bridge-building efforts in the country.
Bello said that the loss of the revered father of the state, who died on Sunday at the Military Hospital in Kaduna after a brief illness at the age of 84, was a shock to him.
He described the late Emir of Zazzau, as a man of peace and vast knowledge, who was reputed for his peace initiatives and bridge-building efforts in the country.
“Although, the royal father who was a thoroughbred School teacher with vast religious knowledge had relatively lived up to a good old age but his counsels and guidance would be greatly missed as he left at a very crucial time.”
Bello commiserated with Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, saying the prime traditional ruler died when his wise counsel and peace initiatives were still required, not only in ancient Emirate Council but across Nigeria.
He said the late chairman of Zazzau Emirates carried himself with dignity and grace commensurate with the magnificence of the traditional stool he occupied.
Bello said that the deceased would no doubt, be greatly missed by family members, as well as his numerous friends and admirers.
He prayed that the Almighty God grant the emirate council and the people of Kaduna State the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
