Zeb Ejiro, a Nollywood veteran producer, has said that featuring young actors alongside experienced hands in films and home video productions will raise more professionals and further boost the movie industry.
Ejiro, the Chief Executive Producer of Zeb Ejiro Productions, the producers of popular Nollywood classic movie ‘Domitilla’ said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Lagos.
He said that the resolve by producers to engage young actors to star alongside veterans would go a long way to encourage and discover young talents in the profession.
” Some young actors have exhibited great potential and need to be encouraged and that can only be done when we allow them to work and act alongside veterans.
“My production outfit has inline with this need, resolve to mix young artists with experienced ones to bring them to the level of professionals and attain greater heights,” he said.
According to Ejiro, the idea is to encourage new and young artists to work hard in order to become stars someday which was practical in my first production, ‘Domitilla’ in 2006.
He said the movie was a societal challenged inspired drama that starred today’s notable actors such as : Kate Henshaw, Sandra Achums, Ann Njemanze, Ada Ameh, and Enebeli Enebuwa.
“The movie industry is growing and chuning out wonderful actors and actresses who need every available opportunity to continue making waves.
“That is what we are projecting in our Nollywood classic film ‘Domitilla’ to be released in 2021 and the audition will be done nationwide on the internet.
“The actors that featured in the first released Domitilla have become veterans and we are trying to encourage the young ones by bringing them on stage, in the next edition.
“Some of them are pulling their weights in movies and their impressive performances will earn them a place when the production of the film begins toward the end of the year,” he said.
The producer said that a sequel of the Nollywood Classic Film Domitilla to be fully released in 2021, is a crime drama which tells the story of a young Domitilla Junior fondly called DJ.
He said DJ, daughter of Domitilla got into adventurous romance escapades for survival with her clique of promiscuous friends and were unfortunately caught up by a mysterious death.
Ejiro, also Chairman of the Board of Association of Movie Producers (AMP)h, added that the loved powerful figures made tireless efforts to prove their innocence.
He noted that three renowned companies had signed a partnership to produce the sequel of the Nollywood classic Domitilla.
The veteran director described the first Domitilla Film released in 1996 as nothing short of a revolutionary and milestone film in the Nigerian home video industry
