A veteran Nollywood actor, Ejike Asiegbu, on Thursday applauded introduction of health insurance for Nigerian actors by current management of Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN).
Asiegbu, a former President of AGN, said that creation of access for actors to Medicare Health Management Services, was a step in the right direction.
Asiegbu told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that the scheme would make members of AGN have a sense of belonging and assurance of their health and general wellbeing.
The President of AGN, Emeka Rollas, initiated the scheme for Nigerian actors.
NAN also reports that a memorandum was on Aug. 18, signed between Medicare Health Management Services and the AGN in that regard.
