Living Faith Church Pastor, Bishop David Oyedepo, has said that there are over 7,000 people on the church’s payroll.
According to him, the church has been so blessed that it has never owed a kobo since 39 years ago it came on stream.
“Today we have 7,000 workers who are regularly paid from holy money,” he said during an early hour sermon to open the new month, as Phenomenal.com.ng monitored on Facebook on Wednesday.
Oyedepo, who has been fiercely challenging government on the continued closure of worship centres due to coronavirus spread, saying churches were, for instance, better organised to control the spread than markets that had been opened, stressed the importance of wisdom and focus in the message.
He said based on divine and practical wisdom, there was a time the size of the church also called Winners Chapel doubled within a week – without any advert anywhere.
He noted that it was key to walk and work in the steps of God, adding, “Just follow God, and His goodness and mercy shall follow you. ‘Thou shall not have any other God except me.’ That is what He said.”
Oyedepo explained that the progress that Winners Chapel had continued to experience was so great that some people said it was charms at work.
He gave the example of the success of the 2019 convention which, among other feats, attracted about 7,000 attendees from foreign countries, from all continents.
“When they say it is a charm, say, ‘Yes’. Tell them it’s Holy Ghost charm,” he said.
On the question of focus, he urged the congregation not to be distracted by backbiters whom, he said, never grew from the backward position.
Oyedepo added, “There are no front biters but backbiters. If you always want to stay at the back, continue to be a backbiter. No persecution of the wicked can stop the work of God.”
With several business outfits that include universities, many nursery/primary and secondary schools across the country, as well as farms, Oyedepo vis a vis Winners Chapel is a major job provider, aside from the said 7,000 direct workforce of the church.
