Gospel artiste, Kunle Ajayi, has said that the most remarkable thing about Fela’s music is the rhythm he created.
Ajayi, a famous saxophonist with the Redeemed Christian Church of God, says he studied Fela and juju maestro, King Sunny Ade, noting that their rhythms are unique.
“Fela created his rhythm. It is the rhythm he created is what made him. I studied Fela and Sunny Ade. Thre is something you need to look at musically about them, apart from their lives. They created something. They originated something,” he adds.
In an interview on Channels Television, Ajayi highlights how he got into music, his breakthroughs and the impact the RCCG’s General Overseer has had on him.
He recalled how one of his albums once sold 10,000 copies in London.
