The House of Representatives has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to order phased reopening of schools and opportunity for final students to take part in the West African Secondary Schools Certificate Examination.

In this wise, the lawmakers want the President to overrule the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, who cancelled an initial plan for resumption towards participating in WASSCE.

The House made the call at the plenary on Tuesday following a unanimous adoption of a motion moved by a member, Nnolim Nnaji.

This is in line with what many stakeholders, including proprietors of private schools are praying for, although others fear resumption may compound coronavirus problems.
