Deputy Governor of Edo State Phillip Shaibu, has mocked suspended chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Adams Oshiomhole over his kneeling down to beg Eno people a few days ago.

Oshiomhole had begged some elders over what he called his mistake in recommending Governor Godwin Obaseki in 2016.

But Shaibu said on Wednesday that the act was an empty one, saying it would not save Oshiomhole and the APC’s candidate in the September election, Osagie Ize-Iyamu.

“No amount of kneeling stunt will save the former national chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole, and his candidate, Osagie Ize-Iyamu, from defeat,” he said
during a campaign that started from Akpakpava Road in Benin City, through Ekpoma to Jattu, in the Etsako West Local Government Area of the state.

According to Shaibu, the governorship electioneering will be issue-based, with a focus on performance and not on persons nor throwing of tantrums and making deceptive public appearances.

The Deputy Governor explained that the election would present Edo people the opportunity to decide the future of their unborn children and not a time to think about pecuniary gains and egos of wannabe godfathers.
