The Delta House of Assembly has assured the State Governor, Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa and his family of prayers for their speedy recovery after testing positive for Coranavirus.
Okowa’s wife, Edith and daughter were recently reported to have tested positive to the Coronavirus and had been on self isolation, after the report of their daughter testing positive was made public
The Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Chief Sheriff Oborevwori, while speaking with newsmen on Thursday in Asaba, said that the leadership and members of the Assembly fully identified with the governor, his wife and daughter in prayers in this trying moment.
He commended the governor for the courage displayed in telling Deltans that his daughter tested positive for COVID-19 was exemplary, adding that a few days later he also announced that he and his wife were going on self-isolation.
According to him, when the governor’s wife tested positive, he also did not hesitate to break the news to the public.
” I must commend the strength of character, integrity and honour of the governor I’m embracing the full disclosure option and we pray that God would allow His divine healing hand rest upon the first family of the state.
”We will continue to pray for the quick recovery of the governor’s wife and daughter, as well as all others, who had contracted the virus.
”I urged Deltans to observe the health safety protocols put in place by the Nigerian Centre For Disease Control (NCDC) and other relevant health authorities, ” he said.
