Star actress, Kabirah Kafidipe, is currently engrossed in family matters.
Her Abeokuta, Ogun State-based father. Alhaji Jimoh Adebowale Kafidipe, has clocked 90 and she and other family members are fun-filled and celebrating him.
Although COVID-19 forbids any big party, the actress popularly called Araparegangan is leaving no stone unturned to symbolically celebrate her.
In a family interview last week, Pa Kafidipe recalls his journey through life:
I attended the gazetted officer course at Erdin North west 9,England at the end of the course, a gazetted officer from Hong Kong (Kin Jung Fon) and I were tied for the first position and got awarded BATON OF HONOUR.
On returning to Nigeria in Jan.1970,I was promoted to ASP and got posted to be the DPO at Oshogbo, and later became a Deputy Superintendent of Police in 1973. I was then transferred to Police Staff College Jos. From there I withdrew my service on 1st Nov. 1977.
In January 1978,I was appointed as Associate Magistrate. I served for 14 years and finally withdrew to civil life.
After my father’s demise in 1976 – March 27 – I was honoured with Leragun of Ilugun Chiefs, and Oganla Oke-Ona Chiefs under Oba Adedamola of Oke-ona; Ekeerin Ago Odo, Bada Oke Ona, Bada Ilugun, Balogun Ikereku, Alaga Egba, Asiwaju Ago Oko of Muslim Community and Balogun Ilupeju.
I married three wives and am blessed with many successful children, grand children and great grand children.”
The old an who lives in his impressive house in Ikereku, Abeokuta, Ogun State, believes that one should always allow God to be in control in whatever one does. According to him, he has always allowed God’s wisdom and the need to be fair to other people guide his steps.
He advises policemen and other security operatives as well as others in positions of authority to allow conscientiousness to govern them.
Apart from Kabirah and her sister, Aishat, who are in Hollywood – Kabirah is now championing Islamic cause, including with film advocacy – Pa Kafidipe’s other children are doing well in various fields, including Justice Basirat Bola Adebowale.
