Oshiomhole wanted reconciliation but Obaseki was not willing – Acting Chairman
Acting Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Hilliard Eta, has blamed Governor Godwin Obaseki for the total breakdown of peace between him (governor) and suspended Charman, Adams Oshiomhole.
According to him, Oshiomhole wanted reconciliation but Obaseki was not cooperative.
Speaking on ‘Journalists’ Hangout’ on TVC, the acting chairman recognised by the leadership of the party noted that there were occasions both were called or meetings but Obaseki refused to attend.
Eta also played down the accusation of godfatherism against Oshiomhole, saying no one had been able to substantiate the claim.
He noted that the war against the APC was like a script, with the scriptwriters hiding behind the scene, with the sole aim to destroy the party.
“Some want to destroy the party. They have made all plans to either capture the soul or weaken it or find solace in another party. What they have done can be likened to a coup. What they are doing finds no comfort in the constitution of our party.
“We know those who control them. They are drummers, just asking their children to do the dancing. But when they are not the one dancing, it is difficult to lay hands on them,” he said.
Eta reiterated that he was the acting chairman, acting for Abiola Ajimobi who is indisposed.
He said on Victor Gaidom, the secretary who is insisting he is the acting chairman: “It is travesty, a comedy of sort that he will be parading himself as the chairman of the party. If we look at APC constitution, the national secretary is not in the line of the national chairman.”
