Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has mocked the All Progressives Congress screening committee, saying they were biased.
He also said the first question they asked him made him laugh as they asked why he had to gazette the order that no one should gather at any other place than the central stadium.
He said,
“I have gone through the screening process and submitted all the credentials they need and have been asked to wait for the outcome. The question was no longer whether my documents were authentic or not. From the moment the screening committee started to ask me why I issued a gazette to prevent the party from conducting direct primaries, i laughed and then I knew the process has been hijacked. How has my approach to governing my state become part of the screening process?”*
The last time I came here, I warned and asked Oshiomhole to recuse himself from the process for the sake of peace and justice. If he thinks he can be a judge and jury in this matter, we shall see from the outcome.”
There has been a raging battle between him and the APC Chairman, Adams Oshiuomhole.
