An Ado-Ekiti State-based man, Taiwo Odetunde, has allegedly taken advantage of the coronavirus scare to trap two girls and defile them.
The state police command, on Tuesday, June 23, arraigned the 27-year-old man, before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court over the alleged deed.
According to the Police prosecutor, Inspector Monica Ikebuilo, Odetunde committed the crime on June 9, 2020 in Ado-Ekiti, saying he lured the girls aged 13 and 14 with the promise that he would make face marks for them.
Ikebuilo asked the court to remand the defendant in the correctional centre pending legal advice from the office of Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), a plea that the Chief Magistrate, Mrs. Adefumike Anoma, upheld and consequently ordered that he be remanded at the state Correctional Centre and adjourned the case till July 27, 2020, for mention.
