Man U darling, Odeon Ighalo, has revealed the real reason he left the Super Eagles.
Many felt he left because he ended the last Nations Cup in a top form and so any other adventure with the team could spell an anti-climax.
Others felt he did so to pay back those who criticised him for past mistakes.
But n a new interview with ‘Brila FM’, he says the distance between his former base – China – and Nigeria made him opted out.
Now that he is in London, he said, he could return to Eagles:
“I am still in contact with Gernot Rohr and Amaju Pinnick, and they congratulated me on my loan deal,” Ighalo told Brila FM.
“I am still thinking about returning to the national team, but right now I want to concentrate on my club career.
“I left the national team because of the distance between Nigeria and China, but now that I am in Manchester and just like life and in my career, you never can tell.”
