Pastor of Trinity House Church, Lagos, Ituah Igholado, has renewed his love for his deceased wife, Ibidun Ighodalo.
He is assuring her that even as she has crossed to the other side of existence, he still very much loves her.
The message is contained in an advert he signed, published on Friday, announcing the burial programmes of the woman who passed away in Port Harcourt on Sunday, reportedly overnight at a hotel she lodged.
The funeral had started as a celebration of life, with some gospel acts, including Tope Alabi and Buchi, joining the Ighodalos, other members of Ibidun’s family, friends and associates at a programme about two days ago.
According to the advert, the Night of Tributes will hold today (Friday) while the funeral service will hold on Saturday.
The day Ibidun, who was also a beauty queen, businesswoman and charity provider, died, Ituah surprised many as he officiated at the funeral of another fellow.
He had heard about the demise of his wife, yet he conducted the programme and even let the audience know about his situation.
He had emphasised that life is a huge mystery, speaking in parables and stressing the need to remain with God.
His gesture had ignited some controversy especially online, with many people giving different interpretations of his grieving style.
While some said it was not right for any man to do such while his wife had just given up the ghost, others said what the pastor needed was understanding, adding that, apart from the fact that a man had the right to react to personal losses the way he chose, Ituah Ighodalo is primarily a man of God who should be able to demonstrate higher courage in the face of adversity.
Now, in the advert announcing the burial, the man assures his wife:
“Ibidunni Olajumoke Ituah-Ighodalo my darling wife, I love you very, very, very much. We miss you terribly.
“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
“I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him will i trust – Psalm 91:1-2.
