Popular labour later, Ayodele Akele, is dead.
Akele, who passed on on Tuesday, was said to jave been sick for some time.
Akele, who was the Secretary-General of the National Conscience Party,founded by the late Gani Fawehinmi, led the labour union n Lagos State and gallantly fought for the cause of workers.
He lost his job in the process but he remained resolute in the cause he believed in.
Several friends and associates have started mourning him, saluting him for his courage and steadfastness.
Among them is the media executive, Gani Kayode Balogun, who bid him goodbye on Facebook.
Also mourning him, Director of International Press Centre, Lanre Arogundade, writes:
“Ituriti, the hope from recent conversation with your wife was that you would fully recover; the reality now is that you are gone – sadly. Rest in peace, Comrade Ayodele Akele, working class fighter and activist. The much I can write for now. Sad.”
