BREAKING: University of Ibadan speaks on Obaseki’s certificate

Authorities of the University of Ibadan have validated the first degree certificate of Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, saying he studied and graduated from the institution.

This is in response to a controversy generated by the leadership of the All Progressives Congress, which expressed doubts over its authenticity.

The party’s Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, had specifically queried the document and Obaseki’s studentship.

But the university, in a press statement by its Registrar, Mrs Olubunmi O Faluyi, said Obaseki was a bonafide Alumnus.

The statement read, “Mr Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki, the Governor of Edo State, graduated from the University of Ibadan where he studied Classics.

“Obaseki gained admission to the University in 1976 and graduated in 1979 with a Second Class Honours, Lower Division.

“Records of his Admission and Graduation are intact in the archives of the University.”
