The rumbling between Governor Rotimi Akeredolu and his deputy, Agboola Ajayi, came to a head on Saturday when Ajayi clashed with the Commissioner of Police in the state, Bolaji Salami.

Ajayi is said to have abandoned Akeredolu since some months ago, with rumors that he had for long embraced opposition Peoples Democratic Party.

But he was not known to have officially declared so.

On Saturday night, however, the matter became a tug of war between Ajayi and Salami, when the latter blocked him from leaving the Government House in Alagbaka, Akure.

Although the main reason for the CP’s action was not revealed, a video from the encounter show them exchanging words thus:

CP: “You have defected, your letter has been brought to my office.”

Ajayi: “If I have defected, what is your own? CP, are you the chairman of APC, are you the chairman of PDP? What is your concern if I defect?”
