Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, the new Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, has said that he will only report to the president and not the public.
Asked what Nigerians should expect from him, he said “we have not started, I’ll have to find out. I don’t report directly to the nation, I report to the President”.
Gambari who assumed duties at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Wednesday promised to serve the nation, Buhari to the best of his ability.
“I thank the President of the Federal Republic for giving me the opportunity to serve him and of course, the country.
“I will serve the nation, Mr President. He needs my loyalty, competence, and support. I will serve to the best of my ability”, he stated while thanking the President for the honour offered him to serve as CoS.
Gambari replaces late Abba Kyari, who died in April of COVID-19.
