The All Progressive Congress (APC), Adamawa chapter, has launched a massive distribution of palliatives across the state.
Alhaji Ibrahim Bilal, Chairman of APC in the state, launched the distribution in Guyuk town, headquarters of Guyuk Local Government Area (LGA), on Wednesday.
Bilal said that the intervention was meant to cushion the hardship, occasioned by COVID-19 lockdown in the state.
He explained that the palliatives were aimed at reaching out to more than 50,000 households in the state, irrespective of their political party affiliations.
“We are inaugurating this massive distribution of palliatives to cushion the hardship caused by COVID-19 lockdown in the state.
“The intervention is with the support of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Boss Mustapha.
“The palliative is designed to cover over 50’000 households in 226 wards across the state,” Bilal said.
He urged all APC chairmen in the 226 wards, to ensure the palliatives reached the most vulnerable in their wards, irrespective of party affiliation.
Responding on behalf of the people of Guyuk, Shelleng and Lamurde local government areas, Mr Samaila Tadawus, thanked the party for the kind gesture.
Tadawus, who is the state deputy chairman of the party, assured APC that the aid would reach those it was meant for.
He urged party faithful to exhibit maturity and evolve strategies on how to claim back the governorship seat come 2023.
Some of items distributed include thousands of bags of rice and many cartons of Noodles.
